When Philip opened his restaurant "Samsø Madsnedkeri" he dreamed, among other things, of making the, for him, best French fries. Of course, from Samsø Kartofler. When Samsø Fritten was in house, it lacked the perfect dip. This is where our homemade [Ketchup] was developed.

Honesty. Love. [Ketchup].

After a demand, it was made into a glass and available for purchase. And that was the start of a series of Philips Samsø specialties. Specialties that the chef uses in the kitchen, are served in the restaurant and that you can now buy to take home from our farm shop.

The winter months on Samsø are for us a time for reflection and creative pursuits. Katrine has always drawn and painted and bought second-hand clothes. One day she found a nice white shirt with a good fit in one of the island's second-hand shops. It was just a bit boring. And so it happened one winter evening a few years ago that Katrine Kim Studio was created from the idea of personalizing white second-hand shirts with art motifs. It made sense in every way.

In Katrine Kim Studio's universe, you can today explore carefully selected upcycled recycled goods. Here, the white canvas of the shirt is decorated with hand-painted art prints, embroidered motifs and beads. You can also find unique hand-sewn clothing made from recycled textiles, illustrations and paintings.

During the winter months, Philip spends a lot of time in his workshop. This year, he has developed prototypes for a small range of fine products, which are cut into plywood sheets and assembled here at the farm. We hope that you will welcome the new items in our farm shop. Among other things, we can reveal a "small one-birdhouse".

Back in 2007, the couple Annelise Buur Rasmussen and Kim Bredsdorff started the company Samsø Landkøkken. The couple had a souvenir shop in Ballen Havn and experienced a great demand for specialties from Samsø. At that time, there was only Samsø Bær, which made jams. Annelise and Kim decided to take matters into their own hands and give tourists what they were asking for; delicious, tasty and handmade gourmet products made mainly from Samian ingredients. Samsø Landkøkken specializes in making handmade syrups, vinegars and salad syrups, which are now sold in specialty stores all over Denmark.

On January 1, 2020, Philip took over the company Samsø Landkøkken. Since he first arrived on Samsø, he has been very impressed by the delicious Samian ingredients, which due to the island's location are grown in a milder climate than the rest of Denmark. He therefore started the restaurant Samsø Madsnedkeri. The two companies complement each other very well with Landkøkken's traditional classic recipes - with a twist, and Madsnedkeri's more "hip" flavors that follow global food trends.

When our oldest daughter turned 4, something happened to her language understanding and the way she related to places. In our case, the way she related to her native island of Samsø, which we found interesting. She could play with words in a new way and found it fun.

As a birthday present, Philip built a theater for her and Katrine made some theater puppets, which were animals that lived around the island. Here she developed Beste Besser from Besser, Mr. Hoftetofte from Toftebjerg, Mrs. Uldstrup from Alstrup and Pil, Le and Mark from Pillemark, the Rabbit Langøre from Langør, Øre Fifle from Nørreskifte and Selma Sæl from Sælvig. To name just a few.

Katrine quickly discovered that Sophia's playmates from the island found the characters exciting. It was easy for them to play along with the fictional universe in a recognizable setting.

Katrine applied to the Samsø Municipality's children's and culture committee's culture fund for money for a children's book project. Here she received 25,000 DKK to write and illustrate a children's book. And that's how our little children's universe "Sam & Søs" with love for Samsø was created.

We are proud that Rikke Jørgensen from Fab.Rikken has agreed to sell some of her handicrafts in our farm shop.

From Fab.Rikken you will be able to find ceramics, paintings and linoleum prints.

Rikke finds great inspiration in nature and has a recognizable style of expression that moves between the soft shapes of humans and the more playful geometric shapes of nature.

Rikke's attachment to Samsø is strong and loving. She lives in Odder and enjoys visiting Samsø with her family.
